Gayle litigates all family issues including divorce, paternity, custody, child support, termination of parental rights, and grandparent visitation. She also assists with post decree relief such as reducing unpaid spousal support or child support to judgment and will assist in collecting on the judgment when possible. She has assisted many clients in obtaining a change in custody or expanding their visitation, and has also petitioned the courts to obtain permission for a client to relocate to another state with minor children. Gayle has also assisted clients in complicated UCCJA matters assisting clients in determining which Court has jurisdiction over the custody of children.
Her practice includes Guardianship Court, obtaining guardianship over minor children as well as adults who cannot manage their own affairs. Gayle represents juveniles in the Juvenile Court on criminal matters; as well as parents in the Abuse and Neglect Court. She continues to practice criminal law, building on her five years as a public defender, before practicing in the private sector. She has been practicing law since 1988. Gayle Nathan holds a Masters Degree in Special Education, as well as a Juris Doctorate, and is admitted to practice law in Nevada, New York and Connecticut and the United States District Court, in Nevada. Gayle has judicial experience as Justice of the Peace Pro Tem in North Las Vegas, serves as an Alternate Hearing Master in Child Support Court, and has completed her training to sit as a Hearing Master in TPO Court. She represents clients on appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Nevada Supreme Court, having argued to that Court en banc in the matter of In Re Kirkpatrick and Potter v. Potter.
